Founder and Director General of Iniciativa Panamá Sin Pobreza, he specializes in managing NGOs, organizations, programs, and social enterprises, with a focus on development, economy, and rural and local employment. Over the last 34 years, he has gained diverse experience in various roles, including shoe shiner, seed collector, field worker, farmer, agricultural laborer, delivery assistant, product demonstrator, tour guide, construction helper, mason, electronics and electrical technician, computer specialist, web developer, feasibility study analyst for small businesses, NGO director, cooperative movement advocate, social and environmental volunteer, youth development, and community development.
Social Contributions: Since 1993, he has actively participated as a youth volunteer in social, youth, and environmental activities. In 1995, he formed a Youth Group at Alanje Secondary School. By 1997, alongside three young colleagues, he founded the Association of Young People United for Nature (AJUN), securing its legal status by late 1998. Until 2015, as a founder, director, and volunteer of AJUN, he managed joint activities and programs for Youth Development, Environmental Conservation, and Community Development.
International Contributions: Thanks to a scholarship from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), he attended the Regional Course on Social Management: Design and Management of Social Policies and Programs (2002) at the Inter-American Institute for Social Development (INDES) at the IDB headquarters in Washington, D.C., USA.
In 2004, he represented Panama at the First Youth Summit of the Andean Community of Nations (CAF, Venezuela, 2004) and the Second International Youth Exchange between Latin America and Europe – Sport and Sustainable Development (EU-MIJAEC, France and Spain, 2004).
In 2003, as President of AJUN, he established the main volunteer program, Social Interest Construction Program (PROCIS), benefiting over 2,500 people in Chiriquí Province. This program was awarded by the Change Agents Initiative (2006) of MTV Latin America and the IDB Youth Program. He also participated in the forum "Youth and Celebrities as Change Agents" during the 49th Annual Meeting of IDB Governors (Miami, 2008).
